Unison Anthems

FAQs

  • Our set list doesn’t work like a typical DJ playlist where you can drop in tracks on the fly. Every track in a Unison Anthems performance is purpose-built in the studio to do three things:

    1. Create mind-blowing mashups of the best floor-filling songs across genres and eras;

    2. Work musically with the unique harmonic range of the Great Highland Bagpipes; and

    3. Lock in rhythmically with our powerful live percussion backline.

That means our set is more like a high-energy, live show than a track by track DJ set — meticulously crafted from the ground up to be tight, seamless, and unforgettable That said, throughout the performance you can expect to hear samples and musical references from the following anthems:

ABBA Remixed (Lay All Your Love / Gimme), Adele (Set Fire to the Rain), Alexandra Stan (Mr Saxobeat), Alice Deejay (Better Off Alone), Avicii (Hey Brother / The Nights), Boney M (Rasputin remix), Caledonia, Ed Sheeran (Bad Habits), Edward Maya (Stereo Love), Oasis (Wonderwall), Pitbull / Jennifer Lopez (On the Floor), Robert Miles (Children), Sigala (James Arthur – Lasting Lover sample), Snoop Dogg (Still D.R.E.), Swedish House Mafia (Don’t You Worry Child), ZombieNation (Kernkraft 400).

Every Unison Anthems performance is designed to deliver maximum hype, wall-to-wall bangers, and a truly memorable experience that gets people talking long after the final note.

  • We always aim to deliver the full Unison Anthems experience, but the exact personnel and instrumental line-up may vary depending on availability and event requirements. Our core setup includes 4–5 live performers, a sound technician, and powerful studio-grade backing tracks through a professional PA system. You can expect at least one Scottish bagpiper at every performance, with additional live percussion typically comprising of Indian Dhol Drum, Marching Quad Drums, and Snare Drum. While we can’t guarantee the presence of specific individual performers or an identical instrument line up at every event, we promise to deliver the same high-energy, polished sound and visual impact that defines every Unison Anthems show. We will always deliver Scottish Bagpipes with a modern twist plus powerful live percussion.

  • Yes, we require a deposit to secure your date in our diary. Unless otherwise agreed, the outstanding balance is due 2 before the event date. You’ll receive an automatic email from our system at that time with a payment link for the remaining balance.

Performance Details

  • Our typical set duration is around the 30-40 minute mark as this gives us the right amount of performance time to really hype the crowd. That said, we have been booked for performances as short as 5 minutes (typically for product launches) and for repeated 15 minute performances throughout the course of the day (typically at larger events/festivals where there is a rotating crowd). We can adapt to suit your event.

  • Not typically. Our set list is custom made in our studios to match the pitch of our instrument line up, meticulously rehearsed and then brought to life on stage. For certain events we have pre-arranged a specific song but this usually requires a significant lead time to put in place and may involve an additional cost.

  • Technically yes, but as our studio-grade backing tracks form a core component of what makes our performance so unique and powerful, we do not typically offer the full band performing an acoustic option. If you require some form of welcome music, we would be happy to discuss the option of a solo piper for guests’ arrival as a separate part of your quote.

  • Unison Anthems is all about delivering a focused, high-impact set of 30–40 minutes of pure energy and hype. We're not an all-night entertainment act — our show is designed to be the unforgettable centrepiece of your event. We don’t offer DJ services ourselves, but we’re more than happy to recommend outstanding DJs and function bands who we’ve worked with and trust to complement our performance. Think of us as the ultimate high-octane highlight — a one-of-a-kind experience that supercharges the night.

Logistics & Setup

  • Ideally around 4m x 3m for the full band, but we can adapt to fit most venues — just let us know what’s available.

  • We usually plan around 60 minutes to set up before our performance. We’ve designed our set up process to be extremely streamlined and efficient as we do not want to burden your event with extensive technical set up. That said, our sound tech does need to set up our PA (or hook up our equipment to existing PA) before we perform but this process can be done reasonably quickly and with minimum disruption to your event. For most small to medium events (i.e. non-staged events) this can be done discreetly in the performance room immediately prior to the performance itself. In most cases, we will not require a soundcheck which helps keep the performance a surprise for your guests.

  • Yes — we provide all our own professional PA and lighting (where required) If your venue or existing suppliers have a system in place, we can also liaise with their team to share our technical specifications and rider.

  • We need access to at least two standard power sockets. A stage is great but not essential.

  • We’ll need parking access, room to set up, electricity, and ideally somewhere to change and store personal items. We’ll send a tech rider ahead of time.

Event Types & Locations

  • We regularly play for private parties, weddings, corporate events, festivals, and more.

  • Yes — we’re available for destination events. Get in touch to discuss logistics and costs.

  • Yes, as long as there's adequate cover, power, and weather protection for our equipment. We’ll work with you to make it work safely.

Unison Pipers

  • To secure your booking in our diary, we charge a small non-refundable booking fee. These can be paid online via our secure payment portall.

We can accept payment online via ApplePay, GooglePay, debit card, credit card. We can also accept bank transfer.

  • Our performers always arrive before the official start time of the event. For weddings, this is usually around 30-40 minutes before the ceremony start time in order to play for guests as they arrive at the venue.

  • Yes! The pipes check in at around 110 decibels (not quite as loud as a live function band).

  • Our performers are seasoned musical professionals and will play a range of appropriate songs dependent on the individual circumstances. For example, our pipers play upbeat and cheery tunes when welcoming guests at a venue but will play slightly slower more graceful tunes when playing a wedding party down the aisle.

  • Of course! If there is something in particular you’d like us to play, please let us know in as much time as possible. This gives our pipers time to create the best arrangement. Unfortunately, some songs don’t fit within the pipes’ limited scale (we only have 9 notes) but we’ll always give our very best effort. If a song isn’t going to work, we’ll always let you know in plenty time.

  • Our performers wear a smart, traditional kilt outfit with a shirt and tie. If performing in particularly wet weather, our performers have tailored matching jackets with our company branding.

  • Our booking fee is non-refundable, Unfortunately, any bookings cancelled within 7 days of the event may be liable to a cancellation fee.

If you have to cancel for any reason, just let us know as soon as possible. We will do our best to help accommodate and changes to plans or postponements.
